In 1997 the Hispanic-American Lyric Theatre commissioned a full length opera/ballet "Rosalinda". After two workshop productions of the work it was finally premiered in October 2007 celebrating our 20th anniversary. "Rosalinda", performed in English, received excellent reviews from the Spanish edition of the Miami Herald stating the following:

"With a few changes this work could become a jewel in the musical theater world. For Miami and Cuban-Americans this premiere is not only a great success that we should all be proud of but also a landmark in the history of our culture where both Hispanic and Anglo-American culture become one."

"Rosalinda" was composed by José Ramón Urbay and George Mattox, choreographed by Yanis Pikieris and staged by Juan Pedro Somoza.

After revising the score and adding new numbers, the work will be presented again in February, 2010.
